Please Welcome Our New Team Member!

Woman, smiling at you.

We are so pleased to welcome Alicia "Ali" Verhovitz to our team!

Ali is a speech-language pathologist who earned her undergraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology and her graduate degree with a focus on AAC from the University of Akron. Her professional journey is marked by a deep commitment to serving adults with communication disorders, particularly those impacted by aphasia and other neurogenic communication disorders. Her clinical experience includes a variety of settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.

In recognition of her early contributions to the field and her meaningful impact on the Greater Cleveland community, Ali was honored with the Distinguished Early Career Professional (ECP) Certificate by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2023. This prestigious designation highlights her efforts to raise awareness, provide education, and build community-focused programs for individuals living with aphasia.

As a generalist in the outpatient setting, she maintains a strong focus on aphasia treatment and has been instrumental in developing and supporting community programs that promote long-term communication success and social connection for those affected.

Her areas of clinical interest include working with people with aphasia, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and speech sound disorders.

Outside of her professional work, Ali enjoys reading, knitting, and attending concerts with her husband.
